Early summer might sound a funny time to revamp a border, but it was started many weeks ago. Then the Kitchen Garden and Greenhouse work took over! The partly shady border, that was planted up 20 years ago, was long overdue for a makeover. A variety of shrubs (including camellia, variegated conifers and purple leaved elderflower) had become overgrown and blanketed the hardy perennials to death!|
After very heavy pruning and much compost we’re planting up with NEW specimens, such as the vibrantly leaved Iresine herbstii (Blood Leaf Plant) that sits boiling in our Hot Garden.
