Last year we planted a wide variety of seeds, some of the less common ones came from the RHS Seed Scheme. Success was variable! The Koelreuteria paniculata are still sitting on the surface of the compost with hope of germination long since gone! But many others were a triumph and have provided us with NEW plants for our landscape….|
Simple to germinate seeds such as Aruncus dioicus and Telekia speciosa popped up in their dozens and are nearly ready to plant out, having been potted on from the seed tray a couple of times already. Others such as Datisca cannabina and Carpenteria califonica produced only a few plants that are now ready to transfer to our garden. We’re pleased that with Garden Centres still closed we have our own local supply of new plants!
